Rabbit Pace Planning: At a minimum, plans will be in place to provide rabbit duties in the 800 and 1500
at a pace required to make the Olympic Trials field as of the date of the race. Based on past and recent
history, the men's 800 & 1500 are very unlikely to see a simple B Standard mark get into the Trials. In
fact, in 2004 on the first day of the AMC HP Series, 10 men were bumped form the Trials field. We expect
another fast final week of racing with numerous breakthroughs as has been the history of this quiet series
HP race opportunities.
Rabbited sections seeking the Trails A Standard are presumed as very likely and will be anticipated.
Olympic Games A Standard races are possible with sufficient advance request time and an appropriate
rabbit stipend committed (here lies the need for a couple of weeks advance in final planning so PLEASE
let us know if this might become a real need).
High Performance Commitment: Every effort will be made to maximize these HP race opportunites. With the
races set in the evening after sunset and primed with rabbits, we will also operate with a close eye on the
weather. With the meets focused on a relatively small number of races, we are easily able to make adjustments
in the time schedule to avoid any unexpected weather interference. Because of this approach to the race
schedule, ALL ATHLETES or their representative will be required to check-in no later than 90 minutes before
the first scheduled race to receive any final adjustments in planned race times and for final race section
assignments along with intriductions of athletes to rabbit athletes and a final discussion of rabbit race plans.
