National Institute for Fitness & Sport
The National Institute for Fitness and Sports (NIFS) houses over 100,000 square feet of training area. It also houses a 200 meter hydraulically banked indoor track. For directions to NIFS click here.
Facilities of NIFS include:
- A 200-meter indoor running track
- Fitness testing and training equipment
- Whirlpool, sauna and steam room

Indy Greenways include rivers, streams, rail corridor, and a vintage cannal towpath -- more than 175 miles of walking, running, biking, rollerblading, canoeing, and more...

Indianapolis Parks & Canals
The canal winds north and south of the Butler University campus.
The canal goes for about 3 miles south of the campus and 3 miles north.
Shortly north of the canal in Broad Ripple, Indy's favorite hangout, one can access the
Monon trail which can also be both biked and run on for miles. Indy Parks and Recreation information is available online at: http://www.indygov.org/eGov/City/DPR/home.htm
With an extensive park system Indianapolis offers great biking and running
trails in its parks.

Eagle Creek State Park
Eagle Creek is the fourth largest city-owned park in the United States. The park encompasses 1,400 acres of water and over 3,900 acres of dry land. The park is only 10 minutes from downtown Indianapolis. Eagle Creek has several 7-9 mile loops in
the woods with additional loops on the roads that can be 10 miles plus.
Heavily wooded and with well maintained trails makes for great running.
