February 11, 2001
(INDIANAPOLIS, IND.) - Indiana Invaders' Collette Liss, a graduate of
Valparaiso University, broke the three year old Cannon IV 3000
record by 15 seconds with a 9:00.57. Liss's winning performance
is the eighth fastest time in the world this year and is her
first race of the year. Liss record setting run also qualified
her for the USATF Indoor National Championships to be held in Atlanta
on March 2-3. Liss is one of twelve Invaders qualified to compete in
Atlanta.
Invaders' qualifiers also included Priscilla Hein with a 4:45.93
in the Mile and Lamont Dagen with a 16.04 in the triple jump.
The Cannnon IV's Mile was also Hein's first race of the year.
