INDIANA INVADERS TO COMPETE AT WORLD CROSS COUNTRY TRIALS

(INDIANAPOLIS, IND.) - The Indiana Invaders have six athletes
competing in the World Cross Country Trials in Vancouver,
Washington on February 16-17, 2001. Leading the Invaders'
charge is Collette Liss (Valparaiso, Ind.) who placed 20th in
the 2000 World Cross Country Championships. On the men's
side, Kyle Baker (Anderson, Ind.) comes off a second place
finish at the USATF Fall Cross Country Championships.
"The World Cross Country Trials will bring to the same
starting line the very best in the United States from milers
to marathoners", said Invaders' club director Greg Harger.
He added, "This experience will be very beneficial to our
athletes as they continue to develop their talent under the
direction of Coach Chris Buhler."
On Saturday, Baker will run the 4K race while Judy Porter
and Stephanie Dueringer will follow in the 8K race. Priscilla
Hein and Liss will run the 4K race on Sunday with Rick Sluder
following in the 12K.
The Invaders' Liss, Hein & Baker will also see competition
on the track in two weeks at the USATF Indoor National
Championships on March 2-3 in Atlanta, GA.
