Liss will use the Mile as part of her final preparation to represent the United States at the World Cross Championships on March 24-25, 2001.

The Invaders' are lead by a legion of multi-event athletes headed by McMullen and Brendon Falconer, decathlon competiters in the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials. Kamau Sullivan (Pike H.S., Ind.) will also be contesting in the multi-event competition which includes the 60, long jump, shot put, high jump, 60 hurdles, pole vault, and 1000.

The Invaders' are well represented in a good mix of events with Phil McMullen (heptathlon), Brendon Falconer (heptathlon), Kamau Sullivan (heptathlon), Hope Sanders (800), Lamont Dagen (triple jump), Le'gretta Smith (60 hurdles), Steven Parker (high jump), Carri Long (high jump), Tara Loper (weight throw), Kyle Baker (3000), Collette Liss (Mile), and Priscilla Hein (Mile).

"We have to be pleased with the numbers competing," said head coach Chris Buhler, "Indiana stands to be well-represented in this year's medal count". Added Buhler, "Regardless of the outcome, we have 9 to 10 very good opportunities to finish in the top 10 with 5 to 6 top 5 finishes a reality this coming weekend".
