LISS FLAT AT WORLD CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
March 25, 2001
(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Invaders' Collette Liss of
(Valparaiso, Ind.), finished well behind her 20th place
performance of 2000. Liss was 6th for Team USA with a
66th place finish in the world's showcase distance
competition.
The conditions were very tough. I'm very fit right now
so I had high expectations of what would happen, but for
some reason or another it just didn't come together. I
don't want to make excuses because we're all running in
the same conditions, but my legs just didn't feel underneath
me today. It was a good experience", said Collette Liss.
Coach Chris Buhler commented, "It wasn't her day. Liss ran
fanastic in workouts all week and was ready to race."
Liss is a member of the Indiana Invaders, a not-for-profit
organization, presenting an innovative approach to track &
field by providing a resident-based, athlete-centered
support system unique to the sport in the United States.
Athletes have access to a strong employment market, affordable
housing, world class training facilities, and support
