INVADERS TAKE TO THE CANAM SERIES
July 4, 2001
(INDIANAPOLIS) Track fans in the northeastern United States
saw the middle distance talent of the Invaders in action
on June 30th at the New Balance CanAm Boston I Elite Meet
in Waltham, Massachusetts. Priscila Hein and Hope Sanders,
a native of Indianapolis, placed second (2:05.09) and sixth
(2:09.78) respectively in the 800.
Hein and Sanders competed at the New Balance CanAm Boston
II Elite Meet then went on to compete July 3rd at Governor
Dummer Academy in Byfield, Massachusetts. Hein finished
third in the 3,000 with a 9:32.57 performance. Sanders
finished seventh with her 2:07.87 mark in the 800.
Taking to the track on July 7th, Collette Liss, a native of
Valparaiso, Ind., will join Hein in the 1500. Sanders will
also see action in the 800. They will be
competing at the New Balance Maine Distance Festival at
Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME.
On July 10th, the McGill International Distance Classic will
see Hein and Sanders in the 800, Kelly French in the 1500,
and Judy Porter, and Liss in the 5,000. Rick Sluder, a native of
Fairbanks, Ind., will be competing in the men's 5,000. This
fourth meet of the CanAm Series will be contested at McGill
University in Montreal, Quebec.
