INVADERS' CARRI LONG TO HIGH JUMP AT WORLD UNIVERSITY GAMES

(INDIANAPOLIS) Indiana Invaders' Carri Long will high jump at the
World University Games in Beijing, China on Wednesday August 29.
Long competes as part of the USA National Team in her first
international competition. Over 6000 athletes from 151
countries will compete in 12 different sports.
Long had originally tied Tamika Toppin for a position on the
National Team in June with both placing fourth at the World
Trials in Eugene, Oregon. Long then won a July jump-off in
New London, Connecticut to determine the final spot on the
World Unversity Games Team.
Long placed fourth at 2001 USA World Trials, fourth at USA
Indoor Nationals, was a participant at the 2000 Olympic Trials,
Runner-up at 2000 NCAA Indoor Championships and sixth at the
2000 Outdoor NCAA Championships. Long took top honors for
Purdue University as the Indoor and Outdoor Big Ten Champion in
2000 and was a four time All-American. In 1994 and 1995, Long
won the Indiana High School State High Jump.
