INVADERS' GALLAGHER & HEIN HIT NATIONAL QUALIFYING MARKS

(INDIANAPOLIS) Invaders' Shannon Gallagher and Priscilla Hein hit
national qualifying marks in the pole vault and 1500 this weekend.
Gallagher finished third in the pole vault clearing 4.21 meters
in the BellAthletics.Com Open in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Hein finished
eighth in the 1500 with a time of 4:15.24 at the Oracle U.S. Open on
the campus of Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA.
Gallagher's competition was won by Olympian Kellie Suttle. At the
Oracle U.S. Open, Hein competed in a strong international field
that included Canadian, Jamaican, Swedish, and Russian athletes.
Hein finished less than four seconds behind the winner of the 1500,
Olympian Regina Jacobs.
Hein's teammate Carri Long finished fifth at the Oracle U.S. Open
in the high jump with a mark of 1.78. Long's event was won by
Olympian Tisha Waller.
Stephanie Dueringer and Paul Howarth hit the roads over the
weekend at the Steam Boat Classic 4 Mile. The Steam Boat Classic,
held in Peoria, Illinios featured a strong international field in
both the men's and women's races with athletes from Romania,
Poland, Kenya, New Zealand, Australia, Namibia, Burundi, and
South Africa. Dueringer had an eighth place finish with a time
of 21:45. The women's race was won by three-time South African
Olympian and now US Citizen, Colleen DeReuck. Howarth finished
the men's 4 Mile race in 11th place with a time of 18:55.40.
The men's race was won by Tim Broe, American Record Holder in the
indoor 3,000.
Eddie Nehus, in setting a personal best time of 1:49.42 in the
800, finished second at the Midwest Distance Solution, presented
by Hansons Running Shops and hosted by Hillsdale College, in Michigan.
Closer to home, Linise Gordon won the 400H (58.90) at the USATF
Indiana Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana on June 9th.
Le'gretta Smith won the 100H (13.38). Jada Phelps won the
long jump (5.83) and was second in the 100 (11.98). Pristina
Jones finished second in the long jump (5.70). Jeff Minks was
third in the 400 (49.53) and Marc Dzradosi was third in the
triple jump (14.93).

The Invaders, in peaking for the USATF National Championships
in Palo Alto, California (June 19-23), are also preparing for
the second edition of the USA National Club Track & Field
Championships to be held in Bloomington, Indiana on July 20th.
