INVADERS' GORDON AND SMITH ADVANCE TO FINALS AT NATIONALS

(INDIANAPOLIS) The Indiana Invaders will be well represented in
the 400 meter hurdle finals, on the final day of competition, at
the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Linise Gordon and
Le'gretta Smith advanced during Saturday's qualifying session
with times of 58.62 and 58.29, respectively.
Gordon, in winning her qualifying section, advances to her first
career appearance in the finals of the National Outdoor Championships.
Smith, having competed in the finals of the 60 meter hurdles at the
Indoor Championships, has the distinction of being the only hurdler
in the field to compete in the finals of both the 60 and 400 hurdles
this year.
Coach Aron McGuire said, "Gordon and Smith ran great races today.
Gordon ran a season best to win her heat and is looking to improve
on her time. The finals tomorrow should be an exciting event."
