INVADERS PLACE FIVE IN TOP TEN AT USA OUTDOOR NATIONALS

(INDIANAPOLIS) The Indiana Invaders placed five in the top ten at the
2002 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. On Sunday, hurdlers
Le'gretta Smith and Linise Gordon took sixth and eighth in the 400
meter hurdles, respectively. Priscilla Hein also finished seventh
in the 1500.
Earlier in the week, Olympian DeDee Nathan took runner-up honors
in the heptathlon and Carri Long finished fourth in the high jump.
The 400 hurdles race was won by Olympian Sandra Glover, of NIKE,
and the 1500 field was won by Olympian Regina Jacobs, of NIKE,
Shannon Gallagher was one of seven competitors in the pole vault
that were unable to clear the opening height of 4.10 meters.
The Invaders will now shift gears and prepare for team competition
at the second edition of the USA National Club Track & Field
Championships to be held in Bloomington, Indiana on July 20th.
The USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be broadcast from
5:30-7 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday, June 12 on ESPN2.
