INVADERS' MARY DANNER ADVANCES TO FINALS AT USA INDOOR NATIONALS

(INDIANAPOLIS) Invaders' Mary Danner advanced out of the qualifying
heats of the 400 meters on the opening day of the USA Track & Field
Indoor National Championships on February 28, 2003. Danner finished
fifth overall from the qualifying heats with a time of 54.61.
Team Director Greg Harger said, "Danner created a great opportunity
for herself to make the World Championship team as a relay member
with her performance. For this being her first time at the National
championships she handled the pressure very well." Harger added,
"Today we saw her run her second best performance of the season.
Anything can happen tomorrow." Danner has a career indoor best
of 54.18, set this season, and a outdoor career best of 53.30 in
the 400 meters.
Fans, on the second day of championship, will see Danner competing
in the finals of the 400, Brandon Hon in the first round of the
60 hurdles, Greg Yeldell in the triple jump, Tameka Borders in the
60 meters, and Hope Sanders & Jacob Koczman in the first rounds of
the 800.
The 2003 USA Indoor Track & Field Championships, held at the Reggie
Lewis Center in Boston, MA., are February 28th through March 2nd.
