INVADERS' GORDON & SANDERS HEAD TO GEORGIA TECH INVITATIONAL

May 15, 2003
(INDIANAPOLIS) The Indiana Invaders will be represented by Linise Gordon (100H, 400H) and Hope Sanders (800) at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia this weekend.

Gordon, an accomplished hurdler from Ball State University, won the heptathlon at the Drake Relays this season and finished eighth in the 400 hurdles at the 2002 USA Outdoor Championships. Gordon finished in the top three of four events at the 2002 USATF National Club Championships (100H, 400H, HJ, and JT) in addition to leading the Invaders to a team title in the 400 meter relay. Gordon is looking to round into national qualifying form for the 400 hurdles over the next couple of outings.

Sanders, a graduate of the University of Illinois and Warren Central HS (Ind.), is a Four Time All-American and Big Ten Champion. As a veteran USATF Championship competitor, Sanders has competed in a number of national championships including three Indoor Championships and the 2000 US Olympic Trials. The Head Coach for Indiana's Number 1 ranked girls high school team (Warren Central), is looking to post a national qualifying mark at 800 meters in the next couple of weeks as her high school coaching duties wind down for the 2003 season.
