INVADERS' SHUNK ADVANCES TO US OLYMPIC TRIALS FINALS

(INDIANAPOLIS) Indiana Invaders' Adam Shunk advances to the finals of the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team Track & Field Trials high jump with his performance in the qualifying round on July 15, 2004. Shunk will compete in the finals of the high jump on Sunday July 18th.

Shunk, a five-time All-American and NCAA Champion from the University of North Carolina, was ranked 11th going into the Olympic Trials and is from Muncie, Indiana. Shunk currently attends graduate school at Ball State University.

Teammate Greg Yeldell did not advance from the qualifying round of the triple jump with his performance of 15.79 meters.

On Friday, Invaders' Shannon Gallagher and Ebbie Metzinger will compete in the qualifying round of the pole vault. Gallagher tied for 10th place at the 2000 US Olympic Team Trials and is a 10-time USATF Championships Qualifier. Metzinger, a graduate of Purdue University, is tied for 18th on the Olympic Trials entry list.
