INVADERS ADD THREE-TIME US NATIONAL TEAM MEMBER, AMY MANSON

November 8, 2004
(INDIANAPOLIS) The Indiana Invaders have added three-time US National Team member Amy Manson, a graduate of Indiana University, to the team's roster. Manson, a two-time All-American & Olympic Trials competitor, has career bests of 15:55 in the 5,000 and 33:50 in the 10,000.

Manson is a two-time Olympic Trials Qualifier in the Marathon ('96 & '00) and also qualified for the 1996 Olympic Trials in the 5,000. Manson is a three-time US National Team member having competed on the Seoul Ekiden ('93), Bejing Ediken ('99), and Yokahama Ekiden ('99) Teams. Manson won the Detroit Free Press Marathon and was runner-up at the Honolulu Marathon in 1993.

Returning to competition after having two children during a four year period, Manson ran 16:06.75 in Michigan for 5,000 meters in 2004 and won the Pearl Street Mile in Colorado. Manson is also a motivational speaker for "Goaled Kids" a motivational goal-setting program for kids and travels throughout the United States speaking to youth groups.

Team Director Greg Harger said, "Manson is a significant addition to the roster. She's returning to top form and will be a factor." Harger added, "Manson is not just a motivational speaker for kids, she will be a great motivation to our younger athletes. In the process of returning to full-time training I think we will see her run life time bests over the coming months and seasons with her new found family balance."
