INVADERS' METZINGER POSTS USA NATIONAL QUALIFYING MARK

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Invaders Ebbie Metzinger posted a USA
Indoor National Qualifying mark in the pole vault with her winning jump
of 4.15 meters at the Washington State Open, hosted by Washington State
University, in Pullman, Washington on January 22, 2005.
Metzinger, a 2004 US Olympic Trials Finalist, also broke the meet record
with her win.
The Invaders posted four wins at the Eastern Illinios MEGA Meet, led by
Alicia Miller, Natasha Lothery, Hope Sanders, and Marc Drzadosi winning
their events of the 400 (57.58), 600 (1:32.82), 1000 (2:48.38), and Long
Jump (7.54), respectively.
Teammates Daniel Walden took second in the 1000 (2:31.73), Pristina
Jones was runner-up in the long jump (5.56), and Ricardo Bell was fifth
in the 1000 (2:35.71).
Team Director Greg Harger said, "This was a good weekend to shake things
up and gear up for hitting USA Indoor National qualifying marks the next
couple of weekends." Harger added, "Metzinger did a great job with her
performance. She's very excited with her season opening mark. She
should be excited because it's her best indoor season opener and she
acheived it with a short approach."
