January 23, 2005
(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Invaders Ebbie Metzinger posted a USA Indoor National Qualifying mark in the pole vault with her winning jump of 4.15 meters at the Washington State Open, hosted by Washington State University, in Pullman, Washington on January 22, 2005.

Metzinger, a 2004 US Olympic Trials Finalist, also broke the meet record with her win.

The Invaders posted four wins at the Eastern Illinios MEGA Meet, led by Alicia Miller, Natasha Lothery, Hope Sanders, and Marc Drzadosi winning their events of the 400 (57.58), 600 (1:32.82), 1000 (2:48.38), and Long Jump (7.54), respectively.

Teammates Daniel Walden took second in the 1000 (2:31.73), Pristina Jones was runner-up in the long jump (5.56), and Ricardo Bell was fifth in the 1000 (2:35.71).

Team Director Greg Harger said, "This was a good weekend to shake things up and gear up for hitting USA Indoor National qualifying marks the next couple of weekends." Harger added, "Metzinger did a great job with her performance. She's very excited with her season opening mark. She should be excited because it's her best indoor season opener and she acheived it with a short approach."
