INDIANA INVADERS' HON SETS CAREER BEST IN HURDLES
April 17, 2005
(INDIANAPOLIS) The Indiana Invaders' Brandon Hon ran a career best of
13.68 in the 110 meter hurdles at the Indy Relays, improving on his
USATF "A" Standard qualifying performance of 13.80 set earlier this
season at the Raleigh Relays.
The Invaders won five individual events. Jamey Sperle in the 200
(21.30), Jason Briggs with the 400 (49.07), Hunter Spencer in the 1500
(3:49.37), Pristina Jones took the long jump (5.62), and Marc Dzradosi
with the triple jump (15.60). Additionally, the Invaders Middle Distance
Crew (Briggs, Ricardo Bell, Dan Walden, & Caleb Bailey) won the 4X400
relay (3:17.36).
Team Director Greg Harger said, "Hon ran into some minor trouble in the
400 hurdles with a ding he has had in his lower back but felt markedly
better five minutes after pulling up in the race at the fifth hurdle.
With a cool down and then warming up before the 110 hurdles things
simply came together in an unusual way for him." Harger added, "This was
a good outing for many in preparation for the next couple of weeks where
we will hit four straight weeks of higher caliber meets for most all of
our roster as we look to post numerous USA National Championship
qualifying marks."
