INDIANA INVADERS FOURTH AT USA CROSS COUNTRY NATIONALS
November 20, 2005
(INDIANAPOLIS) The Indiana Invaders finished fourth in the women's
team championship race at the 2005 USATF National Club Cross Country
Championships at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester, New York.
Led by Erin Nehus who finished third, the Invaders at 140 points were
only one point behind third place Adidas Raleigh TC and only one point
ahead of The Farm Team. Stephanie Dueringer was 19th, Jessica
Textoris was 38th, Lesley Read was 39th, and Heather May was 41st.
Coach Greg Harger said, "It was a very close competitive race between
the Top 5 Teams. We're back in the mix and ready to challenge for the
Title next year." Harger added, "With the addition of four to five new
distance athletes in the next couple of months we will have a very
solid crew capable of competing at the ever rising level of
competition between the top distance clubs in the USA."
This is the Invaders' sixth team appearance at the USATF National Club
Cross Country Championships where the team has finished in the Top Four
a total of five times. Individually the Indiana Invaders have had nine
finishers in the Top Ten.
