(INDIANAPOLIS) Indiana Invaders' Hunter Spencer will compete at the Continental Airlines Fifth Avenue Mile, hosted by the New York Road Runners (NYRR), in New York City on September 30, 2006. Spencer has a career best of 4:00.69 in the indoor mile and a personal best 3:40.91 at 1500 meters.

This will be Spencer's first professional race in New York City. The race features a prize purse of $20,000 and a strong international field composed of numerous Olympians. The race features top athletes from Kenya, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand, and Russia.

Team Director Greg Harger said, "This is a great opportunity for Hunter to begin making the transition into higher levels of competition. It's great for our organization to have an athlete such as Hunter be invited to this very prestigious road mile. As we continue to support and develop talent we expect to gain additional support from organizations like the New York Road Runners Club that recognize the value of true resident based athlete development initiatives."
