INDIANA INVADERS ADD IVY LEAGUE 800 METER RUNNER

(INDIANAPOLIS) The Indiana Invaders have added Aldo Gonzalez to the team's distance roster. Gonzalez, a 2004 graduate of Cornell University, has a career best of 1:49.37 in the 800.
Gonzalez was the Most Valuable Middle Distance Runner of the Cornell track team in 2003 and 2004. In high school, Gonzalez was the Florida State Champion in the 800 in 1999 and 2000.
Team Director Greg Harger said, "Gonzalez has joined the team at a great time with USA Outdoor Nationals here this summer and the position of the middle distance squad’s depth of talented as we set up for the 2008 Olympic season." Harger added, "We're excited to add Gonzalez to the team and we're looking forward to fully developing his talent in the coming months and years.”
Gonzalez joins a team that had 16 athletes qualify for both the 2000 and the 2004 US Olympic Trials. Currently, seven Invaders athletes have posted Olympic Trials qualifying marks for the 2008 US Olympic Trials.
Since 1999 the Invaders have had one IAAF World Indoor Champion, one IAAF World Indoor Bronze Medalist, eight USA National Champions, one USA Olympic Team Member, nine USA National Team Members and 132 USA National Championship Qualifiers.
