INVADERS' MAY USA TOP TEN AND RUDD ADDS USA QUALIFIER

(INDIANAPOLIS) The Indiana Invaders' Heather May finished 10th at the USA 25K Championships in Grand Rapids, Michigan Saturday morning May 12th on the same day that saw Julia Rudd post a qualifying time for the 2007 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the steeplechase in Nashville, Tennessee.

The USA 25K Championships held in conjunction with the 30th running of the Fifth Third River Bank Run played witness to another personal best by Heather May as she posted her first Top Ten finish at a USA National Road Championship with her time of 1:35:22. May as an Olympic Trials Marathon Qualifier continues her progression in preparation for the Olympic Trials Marathon scheduled for April, 2008.

The Tennessee Running High Performance Twilight II meet run under the lights on Vanderbilt University's track was host to Rudd's personal best time as she won the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 10:23.39 as she also posted her first USA Championship qualifying mark in her rookie season as a post-collegiate athlete.

The Invaders had 16 athletes qualify for both the 2000 and the 2004 US Olympic Trials. To date, seven Invaders' athletes have posted Olympic Trials qualifying marks for the 2008 US Olympic Trials.

Since 1999 the Invaders have had one IAAF World Indoor Champion, one IAAF World Indoor Bronze Medalist, eight USA National Champions, one USA Olympic Team Member, nine USA National Team Members and 132 USA National Championship Qualifiers.

The Indiana Invaders, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1998, presents an innovative approach to track & field by providing a resident-based, athlete-centered support system unique to the sport in the United States.
