INVADERS' HOPE SANDERS FOURTH AT 2004 VERIZON MILLROSE GAMES
February 8, 2004
(INDIANAPOLIS) Invaders' Hope Sanders finished fourth in the 800
with a time of 2:10.41 at the 2004 Millrose Games at Madison
Square Garden in New York City, New York on February 6, 2004.
The 97th edition of the Millrose Games, where 14,154 fans
turned out to watch, featured America's top track athletes.
Sanders, a two-time Olympic Trials Qualifier, competed against an
international field in historic Madison Square Garden on
Friday night, as the second stop on USA Track & Field's Golden
Spike Tour.
Team Director Greg Harger said, "This experience in a highly charged
race atmosphere should set her up well for USA Indoor Nationals three
weeks later. As an athlete, Sanders has responded well to the new
opportunities that she is creating for herself through competitive
efforts against top fields."
