Dear Field & Track Athletes,
That's right, "Field & Track Athletes!" The Indiana Invaders
are
honored to host for the next 2 years the initial production and
development of the inaugural USATF National Track & Field Club
Championships. From the introduction to this letter you should recognize
that we are not from, nor do we aspire to, an old school mentality.
Failure is not an option for us and in the pursuit of a successful
establishment of this annual event, we will not be afraid of making
mistakes.
This event provides an unprecedented opportunity for all of us
that
have ever wished for a true "club system" in the United States. We hope
that all of you will join us in July for what we feel is
quite simply the best chance we have for meeting and solving our sport's
developmental challenges.
Whether you are a member of a new club or a club with history,
the
simple act of having your club represented, whether by one athlete or
50, will generate a drive to improve in the time-tested "American Way"
of rising to a challenge and relishing the opportunity to compete with
and against others in the ultimate human recreational
experience..........worthy competition!
You've got to be a member of USATF and a member of a registered
USATF club to participate. Not a member of a club?
Contact USATF at 317 261-0500 and ask to be connected to your local
association for information about area clubs or start a new club. Get
on a club and let the games begin!
Join us in Bloomington, Indiana on July 20th in 2002 and let's celebrate a new beginning
for
each of our clubs.
